Our Mission
At Camp J-Land, we provide young children with a quality, enriching summer experience that develops social and physical skills, while fostering positive self esteem. Our program cultivates independence and self-confidence and challenges a child’s imagination to create, explore, play and giggle.

Campers spend the day learning through play. Children learn how to treat others and the world around them in our bright, child-centered classrooms, located in the Deborah Koenig Early Childhood Center at JCC Rockland. Imaginations soar as children create artistic masterpieces, explore nature and the outdoors, and design with arts and crafts. We spend as much time as possible outside in the sunshine playing games, climbing on the playground, splashing in our in-ground pool, riding, singing, having story time, and enjoying snacks. From sharing a shovel in the sandbox to taking turns on the slide, we focus on gemilut chasadim (friendship and caring for others) each day. We exercise our bodies in the Kantrowitz Kids Gym with fun and games, yoga, mini-sports, climbing, crawling, and sliding on the gymnastics equipment. Excitement soars with specialty days and carnival. Our busy weeks are topped off every Friday with a musical Shabbat celebration. Swim lessons are also available.

Our Staff
Our mature, experienced counselors nurture the campers every moment of the day, taking the time to discover what’s unique and special about every child. Camp counselors are carefully chosen for their enthusiasm, skills and experience with children. Head counselors are qualified adults who share responsibility for their group with junior counselors, CITs and volunteers. The camper to counselor ratio is below state minimum and the safety and security of our campers is of paramount importance. All camp staff participate in pre-camp orientation and training and receive ongoing supervision throughout the summer. J-Land specialists stimulate curiosity and engage young minds in exploring art, sports, movement, science, swimming and so much more!

Our Learning Environment
Camp J-Land is a community for all children from all backgrounds set within the context of Jewish tradition  and values. Counselors establish routines to help campers organize and master a world full of new ideas, sensations and challenges. Activities are designed to develop socialization and self-confidence and include science, art, music, sports, outdoor and indoor play, cooking and special guest entertainers. Camp J-Land is a place where children will learn and grow, make new friends and create memories that will last a lifetime.
