Breaking Away - 18-24 months

Is your child ready to flex a little independence? Parents and tots begin the session together: finger painting, singing songs, reading books, and exploring our wee tot room with loving JCC staff (weeks 1-6). Through a transitional period, parents begin to leave tots alone with staff (7-10 weeks), until a successful separation is achieved (11-14 weeks).

Children explore their world through touching, moving, listening, seeing, and hearing. Program is influenced by the themes of respect, responsibility, and community through exploration and discovery in a supportive and enriching environment. Arts and crafts, circle time, music, nature, science, and stimulating centers facilitate the your child's understanding of their world. Activities based on the child's interests. Children will develop auditory and expressive language skills, fine and gross motor skills, and enhance their social and emotional competencies. Pre-requisite: successful participation in separation program. JCC $250 membership required.

This program is a nice complement to our Mini Soccer program for girls and boys entering Kindergarten in the Fall of 2014. Your child can apply their knowledge of the fundamentals of soccer to team play, with a focus on working together and having fun. Practices one day a week, with games on Sunday afternoons at the JCC. Coaches are needed, so if you are interested in coaching please let us know. Includes t-Shirt.
