When you join us at the annual Founders Dinner Dance, JCC Rockland will be celebrating its 26th year. As an organization, we stand at the threshold of our second quarter century, honoring those who have helped to bring us to this point and paying tribute to their work.
This year we are proud to present our Founders Award to Pam and Fred Greenspan and Melinda and Rich Levin on Sunday, March 23 at the The Rockleigh in Rockleigh, NJ. Pam is the immediate past president of the JCC's board of directors and both she and Fred have given their time and support to not only the JCC, but also to many Jewish organizations throughout the county. Melinda and Rich, like the Greenspans, are dedicated to Jewish continuity, and have given extensive support to the JCC and the entire Jewish community. They have made a significant impact with their efforts and have helped build the JCC into the proud organization it is today.
Joe Allen, who documented the JCC's Minute of Silence campaign in his film, "20 Million Minutes," is a perfect choice to receive the Rubin Josephs Community Leadership Award. Joe is senior vice president of employee communications and community affairs at Active International in Pearl River, and president of the board of directors of People to People, our county's largest food pantry.
Diane Serratore, People to People's executive director will receive the "J" Award, which recognizes
outstanding work in the non-profit or public sector. The JCC is proud to honor two people who have made such a tremendous difference in alleviating hunger in Rockland County.
We are proud to be bestowing the first Pursuit of Justice Award to Danny Ayalon. As recent deputy minister of foreign affairs for Israel, Danny took a lead among world figures, asserting that the 2012 London Olympics was the right time and place for the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to finally pay tribute to the 11 Israelis murdered at the 1972 games.
Please read the short biographies of each of our deserving honorees, and make a commitment on their behalf to the JCC by supporting this year's journal. An ad acknowledges their contribution to this organization and ensures that the JCC remains a strong and vibrant part of our community for the next 25 years.
On behalf of all our honorees and JCC Rockland, we thank you for your support. Please contact Elena Heydt at 845.362.4400 ext. 106 or firstname.lastname@example.org with questions or to place an ad.
And be sure to join us in March as we celebrate the quarter century to come!
